Review by Tavares S. Carney – “the Christian Page Turner”

To hell and back is the perfect description of the travels and experiences experienced by the two main characters in this novel, Lia and Nigel, a successful Hollywood film producer and a down-home church-going Christian woman.  From all outside appearances, the two live a fairytale life.  Without giving too much of the storyline away, find out what happens when a very active in the church, career-woman gives up everything to move across country to marry a man she barely even knew. ... Review by Tavares S. Carney – “the Christian Page Turner”

Meet Vanessa Morton, a strong, independent woman destined for ministry or as some would see it, simply an heir to her daddy’s pulpit.  Then there’s Pastor Willie Green, the attentive and compassionate pastor of the traditional Harvest Baptist Church.   By mutual acquaintances, two pastors oftwo independent churches meet and God’s vision enters the picture.  Soon and Very Soon is a story of triumph and faith.  It tells the story of a woman demanding respect as a female of the cloth and not settling for less, it is a story of a woman realizing that she can still grow ... Review - Devil's Orchestra

DevilsOrchestraBookCover

Devil’s Orchestra by Sydney Molare

Genre: (quasi-Christian fiction)

Rating: 8.5 (see Echelon Book Ratings entry for key)

Review by Tavares S. Carney – “the Christian Page Turner”

Devil’s Orchestra – what’s in a name?  The three main characters in this book – Tab, Deva and Juan definitely make up the devil’s orchestra.  These three characters definitely played to the tune of their conductor.  In this case, the devil.  This is a good read for individuals staggering the fence of committing their lives to Christ.  Not for the holier than thou crowd due to explicit language and graphic scenes used by the author to vividly illustrate both the acts of sin and the consequences thereof.

Review COMING SOON!

SYNOPSIS:  Everyone thought the ten month courtship and marriage between Willie Green, the strait-laced pastor of the traditional Harvest Baptist church, and Vanessa Morton, the dynamo preacher-pastor from the contemporary Mt. Pleasant Baptist church, was too soon. Neither pastor realized that after the nuptials, all heck would break loose as they planned to combine their respective churches. The honeymoon abruptly comes to an end as Willie tries to maintain control of his congregation as the staunch Deacon, Charley Thompson, and a group of dissenters go to extreme lengths to keep their religious routine going at Harvest. Meanwhile, Vanessa struggles with the new balancing act of being a competent co-pastor and a nurturing first lady to her husband. ... (more)
